Shanghai Wild Animal Park is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction. The park is home to over 200 species and tens of thousands of rare wild animals from China and abroad, including giant pandas, golden snub-nosed monkeys, golden takins, red-crowned cranes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, white rhinos, and cheetahs. The park is divided into two main viewing areas: the drive-through zone and the walking zone.

Shanghai Wild Animal Park Transportation Guide
1. Subway:
Take Line 16 to Wild Animal Park Station. Exit via Exit 2 and transfer to Pudong Bus Route 125. After two stops, disembark at Shanghai Wild Animal Park Station. Walk 70 meters to reach the park.
Alternatively, take a taxi directly from the subway exit to the park—approximately a 2-kilometer ride.
2. Bus:
Take Pudong Bus 125, Pudong Bus 71, Nanlong Special Line, or Nanlong Shuttle Bus to Shanghai Wild Animal Park Station.
3. Driving:
Parking at Shanghai Wild Animal Park is convenient. Four parking lots with over 6,000 spaces are available at the main entrance. The walk from parking to the park entrance is short, making access very easy.
Shanghai Wild Animal Park parking fees are: - Small vehicles: 30 RMB per entry/day - Large vehicles: 40 RMB per entry/day
Shanghai Wild Animal Park Tour Route
If visitor numbers are low and queue times aren't a concern, prioritize efficiency over detours by following the park's layout clockwise. Recommended one-day itinerary:

Main Gate → Flamingo Area → Big Mouth Corridor → Sea Lion Theater (10:00 show; queue by 9:30 if possible) → Take the bus tour through the Predator Zone → Water Exploration Zone → Sun Plaza → Beast Mountain Theater (show at 14:15) → Playground → Green Monkeys → Tiger Hunt → White Tigers → Chimpanzees → Small Animal Paradise → Macaws → Exit

However, if there are many visitors, especially if the queue for the 10:00 AM sea lion show is long, you can visit the Predator Zone (drive-through area) first and watch the sea lion show in the afternoon.
Detailed Timeline for a One-Day Tour at Shanghai Safari Park:
(1) 9:00 AM: Queue for park entry
(2) 9:15 AM: Upon entry, enjoy the opening animal welcome show (available only on weekends and holidays). If no show is scheduled, explore the Flamingo and Pelican Corridor areas.

(3) 9:30: Head to the Sea Lion Theater to line up.
(4) 10:00: Watch the sea lion show, lasting 20 minutes. After the show, you can take photos with the sea lions.
(5) 10:30: Proceed to the vehicle tour area to board a sightseeing vehicle for viewing tigers, lions, bears, and other animals.
Two sightseeing vehicle options are available: free buses and paid feeding vehicles. Buses offer viewing through glass, while feeding vehicles provide a mesh-view experience at an additional cost of 50 RMB per person.
We recommend the free bus tour. The mesh viewing on the feeding vehicle offers inferior visibility compared to the bus's glass windows and produces poorer photo quality.
Additionally, feeding is conducted by zookeepers, not visitors. The feeding vehicle also lacks air conditioning during summer.
When riding the bus, choose the first seat on the driver's right for the best view. Generally, right-side seating is recommended.
(6) 11:30: Proceed to the Aquatic Exploration Zone for a boat tour, offering animal views unavailable elsewhere. Boat tickets cost 40 RMB per person for a roughly 20-minute cruise.
(7) 12:00: Lunch at the Food Court
(8) 12:30: Explore the walking tour area around Sun Plaza. Recommended route: Penguins → Alpacas → Kangaroos → Golden Antelopes → Giraffes → Giant Pandas → Cheetahs → Capuchin Monkeys → Hippos → Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros → Asian Elephants → African Elephants → Zebras. Allow about 2 hours.
(9) 2:45 PM: Beast Mountain Theater show at 2:15 PM or 3:15 PM. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to queue. Recommended entrance: Gate 4 to avoid sun exposure. Skip the line with VIP tickets (¥50/person).
(10) 15:45: After the show, visit the adjacent Children's Play Area featuring various attractions like Ferris wheels and carousels for unlimited fun.
(11) 16:15: Continue exploring animal exhibits: Green Monkeys → Gibbons → Macaque Kingdom → Tiger Hunt → African Lions → White Tigers → Black-and-White Foxes → Chimpanzees → Small Animal Paradise → Nursery → Macaws → Yangtze Alligators → Anteaters → Flying Bear Manor → Raccoons → Flamingos
(12) 17:00: Exit the park
