Originally named Hudu Chongxuan Temple when first built in the tenth year of the Chihu era (247 AD) during the Three Kingdoms period, it was renamed Jing'an Temple in the first year of the Dazhong Xiangfu era (1008 AD) under the Northern Song Dynasty.
